The Old Man and the Sea, or, The Power of Porpoise
Day 222, 104-118
I finished reading Hemingway's The Old Man and the Sea today. It is an excellent quick read I would recommend to anyone. I took a few days but it could easily be devoured in one rainy afternoon. Most people see it as a struggle of man against nature, and himself. However, what I took away was how a man can thrive on nothing more than sunlight, the electrical potential of the salt sea, and the drive provided by a purpose that connects him to nature. It's all there. Don't take my word for it, read the book. Hemingway was a quantum biologist before it was cool.
