The Maple That Thought It Was an Evergreen

Day 295, 142-153

Dr. Sunshine

All the deciduous trees around us have metamorphosed through a dazzling array of color. Except for one. We have one stubborn maple in our front yard that is just starting to change over the last 1-2 days. Might it hold the secret key to longevity? Did my unique wood stacking method create some weird forcefield around it? We have another nearby maple with wood stacked around it, but in a much more disorganized fashion, and it is as bald as Sunshine, Sr. I suppose we'll just have to check back next year, perhaps change up the stacking and see what happens. In the meantime, hopefully this tree holds out a little longer to extend our local leaf-peeping.
